Dance in the Streets at the French Institute

 

2024年1月から3月までフランス・パリにあるアーティスト・イン・レジデンス施設のシテ・テザールに滞在した黒田健太によるトークイベント。
渡仏前から黒田はダンスを通じてストリートで出会った人とのコミュニケーションについてリサーチすることをセッションと呼び実践を重ねている。
この実践において初対面の人同士がいかに関係を築いていけるのかを問うている。
シテ滞在中に清掃員と話したことをきっかけに、これまでこの実践の中では出会う人の枠組みをあらかじめ決めていなかった黒田は帰国後、関西日仏学館の清掃員と実践を行うことにした。今回のトークでは、黒田のストリートにおけるダンスの実践、フランスでの気付き、そして関西日仏学館の清掃員との実践がどのようなものであったかを紹介します。

 

This is the talk event by Kenta Kuroda, who stayed at the Cité internationale des arts as a residency artist, from January to March 2024. Before going to France, Kuroda has been practicing what he calls “sessions”, in which he aims to communicate with strangers in the streets through dance. In this practice, he aims how people who have never met before can build a relationship with each other. The experience of talking with a cleaner during his stay in Cité brought him to carry out the practice with a cleaner of the French Institute after returning to Japan, because he had not previously set a framework of people he would meet in this practice. In this talk, Kuroda will share his dance practice in the streets, his experience of residency in Paris and what his practice with the cleaners of French Institute was like.

京都を拠点に主にダンス分野で活動しながらカフェ/宿泊施設で働いています。ダンサーとして活動しつつ、2018年より路上で偶然出会った人と時間を共にする実践をおこない、彼らからその経験をお借りして制作活動を行っています。

Based in Kyoto. He works mainly in the field of dance and usually works in a café/accommodation. His dance project has started since 2018. It is to try to share the time with strangers he meets by chance on the streets and borrowing their experiences to create his works.
