Here come this year’s Hot!! Festival.
Inviting 12 globally active and recognised choreographers, dancers and artists, we will provide a venue for thinking and learning about environment where to nurture dancers. Workshops are programmed for expanding the scope of your dancing technologies and knowledge such as techniques, researches, creations, etc. Scholarship programmes, auditions, and an area for meetings are offered for you to widen the field of activities of dancing. Beginners classes, After Talk, documents, open praogrammes are also organized to accommodate a variety of interests and needs of “want to know and learn” dancing.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Hot Summer in Kyoto Festival! The theme is “Passing Through”.
We want to position this Festival as a point to pass through for those who desire to be a dancer. Gathering from various parts of Japan and the world, they will meet different people and stimulate with each other, establish a new network and start new activities at this “venue”. They will renew the consciousness of things passing through the body; energy, breathing, flow, time, space, information, memory, etc. etc. These are components of our body and sources for transformation. This year’s festival aims to provide a venue where the body enhances the level of the consciousness and the response to the things passing through it.
